Hello Team Caulfield. This is our last week of training and competition before we take a break for Christmas. It was fantastic to see all our athletes competing in last week’s Caulfield Combined Competition.
This week is a special program for our Christmas Break Up incorporating the presentation of the 2019/20 season awards.
Arrival on Saturday
We would like everyone at the track and seated by 8:30 for a special presentation of awards and acknowledgements.
Come dressed in your best Christmas gear.
After the Centre awards are completed our competition will commence. Each age group has been scheduled to compete in two events, as well as a timeslot to present the age group trophies from last season. Athletes will then marshal for the Caulfield Gift – our annual handicapped 100m race. This is a fantastic spectacle as children of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to progress through to the semi finals and the coveted final of the Caulfield Gift.
2019/20 Season Awards
All CLAC members from last season who were eligible to receive a trophy would have received an email from our Vice President last Friday night. Please RSVP your attendance to this Saturday so your trophies and awards can be prepared prior to the day to help streamline and speed up the presentation process.
Thursday is our last training night for the year. Training resumes Monday January 18. A huge thankyou to Michelle Favier, our CLAC Coaching Coordinator, who has done a fantastic job to get post COVID training up and going this season. Also a big thanks to our wonderful Coaches.
We have a very busy second half of the season coming up after the Break. Competition resumes on Saturday January 16th.
The following week is a Friday night comp, Jan 22 of the Australia Day long weekend. We expect the competition portal to open soon for the Southern Metro Region (SMR) Athletics carnival, which again is being hosted by CLAC, on February 13/14. We want as many CLAC athletes as possible to participate in SMR this season.
Regional Relays are end of February for the U 9 – 12 age groups. Relays are a fantastic way to enjoy athletics and build great friendships. We will commence planning and training for relays in the new year.
Patches and Uniforms
Competition patches are compulsory. Failure to bring your patch may result in your results not being recorded. Athletes are to be wearing their Caulfield uniform when competing. This includes the Coles patch sewn on to the uniform.
