A huge congratulations to all Caulfield athletes who have qualified for the State Track & Field Championships being held on the 16th & 17th March in Casey Fields, Cranbourne. It is a huge achievement to qualify for this event and with 59 Caulfield athletes attending we are looking forward watching you all compete and achieving your best.
Please note this event is very different to our normal Saturday competitions if you are a first timer. There are many rules and regulations please ensure you know them or if unsure please speak with the team managers or committee members. The most important ones are listed here.
CAULFIELD TEAM MANAGERS
Alan Morris – 0405 811 536
Jason Whittle – 0439 347 291
To view the provisional timetable please click here.
All Caulfield parents must complete duty if your child is competing! The duty roster can be SEEN HERE.
If you scratch your child during the championship weekend you will still need to complete your duty or find someone else to do it and then notify the team managers. It’s always disappointing when parents are no where to be found or have left the venue when they are required. Please note this lets the whole team down including your own child and may affect their entry into the next major event.
All parents on duty must have enclosed toe shoes on otherwise you will be sent away and the Caulfield athletes in that event maybe affected. Please don’t let our athletes down. If you are unsure please ask the team managers or a committee member.
Shorts must be Navy Blue (no pockets & no logos larger than a 20c piece, unless it is the LAVIC logo).
Purple Caulfield Singlet/Crop Top
NOTE: Please ensure that singlet/crop top has the COLES badge sewn on.
If you are only now realising your child’s uniform does not have this badge please arrange to collect one urgently. No athlete will be allowed to compete without it.
SUBWAY PATCHES – must be worn due to sponsorship agreement with Subway. NO PATCH NO COMPETITION.
For more information on uniforms click here.
For those athletes allowed to wear spikes, please note you are required to remove them before leaving the track/arena. Athletes should not be walking around on the concrete, outside the track, in spikes, as this is an OH&S
ARRIVAL AT CASEY FIELDS
Please allow enough time to arrive, park car, find Caulfield tent, sign athlete in with Team Managers Alan Morris and Jason Whittle. ATHLETES SHOULD BE AT THE TRACK NO LESS THAN ONE HOUR BEFORE THEIR EVENT.
Ensure your athlete has warmed up for their event and had a bathroom break before entering call room.
Please note: The Call Room Closing Times for athlete events, are as follows:
TRACK EVENTS: will CLOSE 20min prior to event
FIELD EVENTS: will CLOSE 30min prior to event
The call room opens 30 minutes before the event start time and is only open for 10 minutes. Arriving at the Call Room after the closing time WILL result in disqualification from that event.
Note: Only Athletes, Team Managers and/or Officials are allowed in the Call Room (i.e. no parents are allowed to enter the Call Room).
For those athletes that have a clash between a Field Event and a Track Event please note the track event will take precedents over the field. The Team Managers have been provided with a list of possible clashes and will have forms completed that have been handed to the (Chief Official in the Call Room) this will alert them to the clash.
Release Marshals will collect the athletes from their Field Event and deliver them to the Track Event. Their race will not commence until the Starter’s have confirmed that all athletes are at the start line. Runners will then be collected from Finish Line and returned back to the Field Event, if required.
We will have our Caulfield tents set up at the track for the use of all our athletes, families and supporters. If a qualified athlete is unable to compete on the weekend please give Jason or Alan a call and advise them of the situation. This will allow the appropriate officials to be notified and help the team managers keep on top of the other planning activities required.
Your support and help is very much appreciated.
